THE SOCIETY'S PUBLICATIONS
The Proceeedings
This is the official journal of the Society, and is published annually in the autumn. It contains reports on the Society's activities and includes records, notes and articles contributed by members and, occasionally, by non-members.
The present series of the Proceedings began publication in 1930 and, except for a seven year break caused by the disruptions of World War II, has been published annually since then. Ten annual parts constitute a volume. The periods covered by the volumes so far published are: Vol. 1 1930-1939; Vol. 2 1940-1956; Vol. 3 1957-1966; Vol. 4 1967-1976; Vol. 5 1977-1986; Vol. 6 1987-1996; Vol. 7 1997-2003 (this Vol. not yet completed).
Copies of the majority of issued parts of the current series of Proceedings are still available from stock.
There was an earlier series of Proceedings but only three were published. The first one covered the years 1909 - 1915, followed by one in 1916 and another in 1917. Publication then ceased, probably as a result of difficulties resulting from World War I.

Please Note: this page is still under construction. It is planned to have the contents list for each of the published parts on a database searchable by subject or author and with the facility to view the contents list of any individual part. There are no immediate plans to make the contents of the Proceedings available on-line.

The Coventry District - a Naturalist's Guide.
This book was written by members of the Society and published in 1960 to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of its founding. Its subject matter covers a wide range and includes chapters on local geology, topography and soils, pre-Norman archaeology, plants, fungi, insects, spiders, birds and mammals. It also includes a chapter on the history of the Society. The book has 121 pages, 98 illustrations and an illustrated dust jacket.
Copies of this book (soft cover only) are still available at a price of £2.00 post free (UK). All proceeds from the sale of the remaining stock are dedicated to "The Friends of Canley Ford", a conservation group set up to manage the local Canley Ford Conservation Area and Millenium Green.
